To prove the accuracy of our Vehicle RTK solution, Emesent conducted a scan along a 2km stretch of road in Brisbane, Australia.

The scan, using Emesent’s Vehicle RTK, consisted of 6 passes of the road, each taken at approximately 50kph. The scan was undertaken at night to minimise the appearance of traffic (and thus reduce the need for point cloud cleaning).

The Vehicle RTK solution used a Local Emlid RS2 base on a known position in order to gain best accuracy. Using Emesent Aura, the data was processed, filtered, reprojected and Geoid applied to local CRS GDA2020 MGA zone 56, with Geoid height referencing Australian Height Datum (AHD).

Data accuracy was verified by independent surveyor Orion Spatial Solutions in their 2024 accuracy report, available for download here.
