The Carrapateena mine in South Australia is one of the largest copper reserves in the world.
When a 5m diameter hole appeared at the surface in 2023 and continued to grow over the next few months, regular scanning became critical in order to ensure both the safety of mine personnel and the stability of its operations.
Facing significant challenges such as mandatory exclusion zones, Carrapateena needed a unique solution. They turned to Emesent Hovermap to autonomously – and safely – capture critical data which would have been impossible otherwise.
