What is Emesent’s Golden Hovermap?
As the gold standard in autonomous mobile mapping, Hovermap is a LiDAR scanner powered by advanced technology for capturing data in 3D. Hovermap is used for building a digital picture of physical environments, creating survey maps for construction, mining, forestry, police forensics and many other applications.
The Golden Hovermap is a one-of-its-kind version of Emesent’s Hovermap ST-X which has a powerful scanning range of up to 300 meters (984 feet), captures millions of points per second, and renders 3D images for live viewing and more detailed post-processing.
Hovermap’s strength is in the SLAM technology that underpins its ability to map places where there is no GPS signal. Emesent’s Cortex software intelligently leverages available GPS signals or Emesent SLAM to build the best quality map possible in the given terrain.
This means that Hovermap is extremely versatile – able to operate in inaccessible and challenging, GPS-denied environments – and easily switched between modes of use: handheld, backpack-carried, vehicle-mounted, drone or robot-integrated.
By being incredibly versatile, Hovermap is able to create highly accurate digital maps quickly, typically simplifying and streamlining traditional survey workflows to deliver actionable results in minimal time.
