Autonomous mapping of Digital Twins key to improving AEC safety and efficiency

Reflecting the increasing importance placed on its partnerships and clients across Asia, Emesent will tomorrow exhibit and present at Geo Connect Asia 2024, 6-7 March, showcasing the value of autonomous LiDAR mapping for the future of construction, engineering, and large-scale asset management.

Dr. Stefan Hrabar, Emesent co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer, will present the Day Two Keynote on the role of autonomous data capture for critical infrastructure as well as contribute to a panel discussion on mitigating risks for critical infrastructure assets.

“Geo Connect Asia offers a unique opportunity to engage clients in Singapore and beyond, allowing leaders in the AEC sector to explore the value of autonomous LiDAR-based mapping for their planning, monitoring and maintenance operations,” said Dr. Hrabar.

Emesent will showcase a range of leading capabilities for the AEC, mining and oil and gas sectors, including:

  • The latest developments in Hovermap, Emesent’s flagship scanning technology, including new data capture, processing and visualization capabilities, and a mission planning app.
  • A newly released accessory kit for capturing panoramic images that are automatically registered to Emesent Hovermap point clouds, providing additional visual context during 3D data capture.
  • Integration of Emesent Hovermap on two new drone systems: the DJI M350 and the Freefly Astro. Support for DJI M350 enables the georeferencing of point cloud data using real-time kinematics (RTK), while integration with the US-built and NDAA-compliant Astro drone offers a new alternative to Hovermap users in countries concerned about Chinese built drones.

During Geo Connect Asia’s tech sessions, APAC Director Sales Paul Fenner will outline the value of panoramic imagery for AEC applications, in enhancing the understanding and communication of visualized 3D data, showcasing how Emesent has simplified processes and accelerated the workflow provided with the release of Emesent’s Handheld 360 Image Kit.

“I’m excited to be here because it gives Emesent a chance to showcase the application of our technology for a range of AEC scenarios. It’s also a great opportunity to connect on a more personal level with our partners from across the region,” Dr. Hrabar said.
